so yesterday i accompanied another malaysian to discover things in kotaku. both of us are malaysians who were not born and raised in kotaku, so although we keep reminding ourselves and other people, especially when we are talking to non-malaysians, that kotaku has always been the economic capital and was the administrative capital of our country for many years, we actually know very little about kotaku. my friend was born in the east coast and I in the west coast, and for both of us, childhood was spent in rural areas, whilst our secondary schools were in big towns (jb and seremban, respectively). unlike my friend, I have made pj my home for many years, and since pj is an extension of kotaku and that I used to work in kotaku for several years recently, I have become somewhat familiar with certain parts of kotaku. naturally i took on the role of a guide yesterday, although we had to refer to realtime GIS to get to Jalan Sultan from Masjid Jamek !!!! ohhhhh you can’t never fault me for my love of GIS!
my route:
PJ Phileo Damansara MRT——Pasar Seni
her route:
Putrajaya Sentral ERL—–Kl Sentral LRT—-Pasar Seni
i don’t know about you but i prefer leaving it until the last minute to tell my travelling companion WHERE to meet up. all i can say is there’s an art to providing directions, and that art is not about the efficiency of travel nor saving time! *MRT and LRT connection on the first floor*
our route:
Pasar Seni……………………………………………………..Masjid Jamek (the reason for using so many dots to indicate our walk is not really because we got lost, rather we took our time to eat breakfast at a kopitiam opposite the bar council, and their roti kaya and soft boiled eggs reminded us of our wonderful breakfasts at haipeng kopitiam in Kemaman last year. The robusta kopi was nutty and full-bodied, yeahhhh)
our route:
Masjid Jamek ——PWTC LRT
once alighting we became somewhat purposeful so we headed for the PWTC to find out what the fair the matta is about, and so we each paid RM4 for the entrance fee and after awhile we came out on Jalan Ipoh. it was all just as well because there was a restaurant serving the food that we were craving for: ikan patin masak lemak cili api, paceri nenas, tempoyak, budu, ikan kembung masak asam pedas dan lagi dan lagi dan sebagainya. then we walked a short distance back to LRT station. yes the distance was short but we found many wonderful things, no, no I am not talking about what we saw and did at The Mall, but this!!!!
sapa kata kotaku tiada balak gedang
